HOW-TO : MAKE & DECORATE Bouncing Carousel Bunnies

  1. Make templates for the body, tail and head seperately.

  2. Draw round and cut the body from cardboard boxes, the head and tail, from card.

  3. Glue bits of fabric or patterned paper all over the body. Encourage the participants to name their bunny and this will help them decide upon whether or not it's a girl or boy; good or evil; king or princess etc. This will lead them to decorating decisions.

  4. While the glue is drying, draw the bunny's face using felt pens, add whiskers, inner ear shapes, nose and very importantly, teeth!

  5. Prepare the bobtail. If you like, you can make pom pom tails, or simply add woolly fluffiness to a circle of card.

  6. Attach the head and tail in the approriate places.

  7. Staple both ends of a strip of 1/2” wide elastic to the back, (enabling a bouncy carry handle).

  8. Add a sticker name and hop home.

Cute creative project to do with kids on a rainy day. Great way to use up some things that need recycling too!

Makes me want to go and paint now and quit all of this typing...*sigh*

I make a lot of things from other peoples cast offs and am never done thinking up new ways to use it up. Fabric can be a nuisance because there's too much guilt involved in throwing it away!
